LED ladder golf

I've searched long and hard, and have run out of ideas. I'm looking to build a LED ladder golf set like this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Triumph-Sp...-Toss/21913800 for a wedding gift.
I can't seem to find some clear hard plastic coloured tubes as i plan on wiring leds up for it.
Anybody have any suggestions? i've found things like this https://www.1000bulbs.com/category/t...-tube-sleeves/ but there just a bit to flimsy.

For $40 why build it?

It can only be found in the US, and all reviews say there junk as the LEDs dont work half the time. Ive also bought a regular one from walmart here and there straight junk, fall apart like nothing.
I plan to build mine out of pvc and cement glue it.

These are a little on the small side i need about 1-1.5"
