    Default insurance renewal

just got a letter to renew my car insurance for jan 16th 2004 - but they have increased my premium by $30 a month (2327 per annum now) - i've had no accident / tickets etc.

i thought there was a price freeze in ontario for car insurance

    any tip / suggestions

i've tried some other insurance companies but couldn't get a lower quote from anyone else

    thanks
    alex

My co-worker's renewall was on Nov 1 - her rate went up, no tickets etc......
She called and mentioned this to the company and asked why it went up during the rate freeze and was told that they adjusted their rates in anticipation of the rate freeze.
    Sneaky.

they are still razing the rates for people that need to renew...the reason is because Klein only said that there will be a freeze. It's still being passed as a law, so until it is a law they can do whatever the hell they want. Eventually you will get credit for the extra money you paid but who knows how damn hard they will make it for you to receive that money...Fuckin insurane company bullshit

But on the radio they keep playing these announcements saying "if you received your new insurance or renewed after XXX date...your rates cannot go up (except for blah...)"
