Default Looking for a hit and run vehicle

So my sister was in an accident today. Not too much damage to the vehicle. But as soon as the guy saw that she had kids in the vehicle, he suggested that they pull over in the parking lot at glenmore landing. So they both pulled in and stopped there vehicles, she went to go check on her kids again and the guy took off on her.

The vehicle is a possible late 90's dark green Jeep Cherokee and the first 3 letters of the plate are UZE. The driver was a big fat white guy. The accident has been reported to the police but they say that they can't do much, which I don't understand why they can't. If you guys see such a vehicle, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A dark green jeep cherokee with the license plate UZE, and they can't do anything about it? sounds weird...

Well, if you know what type of vehicle it is, with the paint... Typically the police have no problem finding these even if you have only the first 3 letters of the plate...

Atleast from what I have heard.

WTF, if Horatio Caine can catch a murderer with mixed dried semen from an underwater bukkake party, I don't believe the CPS can't get much info from a 3 letter (Alberta plate I assume), with vehicle description to narrow down from.

Tell the cops you think you saw a small bag of marijuana on the passenger seat.

I posted it up on the calgary jeep site. Total BS that the cops won't help, they can find a car with less info if they want. I would go to the officers sergeant if he refuses to help her.

I can't help you, but I've seen that Jeep several times in the past driving like a douche. I remember because the UZE plate always makes me think of an UZI (and how many dark green jeeps have license plate UZE?)

If I happen to see it again, Ill get the rest of the plate #.

Take pictures always. Most people carry cellphone with camera nowadays, it shouldn't be that hard.

Get out of your vehicle when it's safe. Take pictures of the damage, take pictures of the location, take pictures of the plate, done, grab witness if you can. Then you can exchange info wherever you want.

Talk to the insurance company, let them handle it. They'll want to find the guy more than you do. I assume she wasn't at fault.

CPS can't find the handle on a coffee cup. Eyes peeled for a fat fuck in a dark green Cherokee, UZE.

Thanks everybody for keeping your eyes open, the damage should be on the front of the jeep. There isn't that much damage but it's the fact of the matter that he took off while she was checking up on her kids. We think they should be fine even though they are pretty young. Would just like to nail this guy that's all.

Do this, easy fix. Do it in person though, at the local cop shop.

Theres only 999 possibility starting with UZE and chances are only a portion of them were sent to registries in Calgary.

Registries get sequential blocks of plates, so it is very likely all 1000 (don't forget 000 is a plate) ended up at registries here in Calgary. That said, there are probably only 1 or 2 vehicles in that set of 1000 plates which could be the vehicle in question.

It is also possible that the plate is stolen or registered to another vehicle and so when they search the plate none of them come back as a green jeep. Perhaps that is why they are not able to help?

None the less, I'd trust Beyond CSI over the CPS any day

Who the fuck told you that? Was this someone over the phone or an actual officer? Based on what you have said here that doesn't sound right at all...

Sorry for the threadjack, but I would have to agree that the CPS are less than helpful over the phone (unless you called 911). Faxes, emails, in-person will get you affirmative action.

Over the phone you will get "sorry, we cannot arrest the assault suspect in the condo unless you can provide us the apt number". Not sure why, but I have measured a 100% failure rate using phone contact with more than one district.
