Man, SO tempting, but i gotta work fucked hours all this week. I would just do it for dyno time haha, you know im gonna need it.If its still on for saturday and the motor is still there let me know.
Anybody know if the cars still there? I'm really tempted to go down when pnp opens tomorrow morning and yank this for toma now.
Wooohooo.;... I'm HOPING it's good, front end hit, so.... the car is not there cause the motor calved.Originally posted by EvolizePhoto

I just need a stock FD motor.... sheesh
Really wish I had pictures. Is the rad support and all associated metals going to be preventing said motor from coming out? I would hate to get down there to start working on it and find out that I can't pull it because I don't have any jigs to pull out a rad sup.
That thing was put in the fantasy 5. 2 weeks ago saturday it started to get picked. they moved it out to the regular yard last week I think it might be gone now not 100% sure on that tho. also its not on the website either.
if someone can confirm its still there..ill pull the motor in the morning
Doesn't look like I'll be pulling the motor for you Toma, according to this
Originally posted by Alak If its that purple one: Motor (to me) looks pretty well fucked. The front cover is cracked and the gears are exposed. I'd say the internals are trashed. besides you'd have to drop the engine because the car is IN the engine now.
I would have pulled it myself, but after I seen what was left of the front cover, yeah. That kinda damage probably disintegrated what was left inside the engine. The cross member/rad support is IN the front cover. You could get the enigne, but you'd have to drop it from the bottom and fight the subframe.
But the turbos looked okay. Someone scooped the injectors.
Life is too short to drive boring cars.
Toma, what parts exactly do you need? I have an entire engine in pieces you're welcome to look at if you're still looking at building your own.

Shit, yeah, another guy also PMd me saying it was Fubar...
Oh well... thanks guys!
If the front cover is cracked that doesnt necissarily mean the motor is fucked. There is ALOT of iron and steel in the main part of the rotary, the front cover is wimpy but all it houses is the oil pump drive gear, and the oil metering pump. May still be worth having a look. If i were you tho, i would pull the leading plugs and turn the motor by hand, listen for 3 chuffs from each chamber. If there is 3 its good, if there is two or less, chances are an apex seal has gone to heaven, or into the turbine...
I will warn whoever goes tho, yanking a 3rd gen motor is a shit show when the front end ISNT smashed, so its not going to be easy if it took the rad support in any further than it normally sits.

It's PNP though, a hacksaw and mini sledge hammer are part of my standard kit when I go there.Originally posted by sr20s14zenki

It looked Fubar when I saw it last Monday. Like I literally grabbed a piece of the block/front cover and pulled it off. Car looked like it had been in a pretty bad accident.
Have you guys ever seen newer cars there, like 370/350 or g35/g37? or is there another wrecker that takes these kinda cars? I'm only been to PnP a handful of times for old 240 shit.

Yah, like i said, if you took one apart you would understand. Each iron is about 2 1/2" thick, the eccentric shaft is REDICULOUS in weight and strength. The only wimpy part of these engines is the outside components, when you break them down to the actual "pumpkin" if you will, they are big tank bastards. Mind you it still could have happened, but the wimpy part, the rotor housing, would have most likely been protected by the front iron/protruding end of the eccentric shaft.Originally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo

RE: G35 parts...
All the newer/high end cars go to the wreckers in Nisku (just south of Edmonton):
