Default Looking for auto mech apprenticeship

I would like to find a job working in an auto shop. I have my pre-apprenticeship course, and experience in a Toyota dealer as well as experience servicing heavy equipment and large trucks. I have the tools, a box, and I just need a bay to put them in! I would love to get into a ford dealer, but really I just want to get my apprenticeship papers signed and working in the trade again. If anyone knows of anything, please let me know.

Do you expect a job to be thrown at you? I don't know any mechanic who's been hired because of a reference on a forum.

Start visiting shop foremans and service managers.

Or continue to wait for a golden egg.

I do expect it. My life is handed to me on a golden platter, not even silver, fuck silver.

All I was looking for was anyone who knew of someone looking, or hiring, so I could point myself in that direction.

    Hug it out?

I have been, I am by no means RELYING on beyond.ca to find me a job, merely using it as another tool to get the word out. Generally car people hang around other car people who are wrenchers themselves or know them and hear about jobs opening from time to time. Is this a new concept for people?

Seriously, do you guys all come with sticks up your ass from the get go?

Just pound the pavement and go on leads. If you're serious about apprenticing and are open to moving else where I know on the SynCrude website they're looking for a truck & auto mechanic for their 3/4 tons & 1 tons.

Not at all. Hence why I decided to edit my comment and put the period instead of being a dick. Then you were a dick to me and had the proverbial stick up your ass.

    See?

That attitude won't help your employment opportunities.

    See?
My initial reply to you was sarcastic in nature, I can see how it could be taken otherwise as we do not know each other and the internet generally fails to pass along sarcasm. My apologies.

I was chill, its not like I posted a thread called "easy jobs in the oil sands". Just seemed like I was getting attacked and called lazy for just putting some feelers out.

I have only lived here for a few months, so really the only shops I know off are all dealerships.

Oh shitty deal about the J-man thing. I'll keep my eyes open, you may want to try the garage at Checker Cabs. I know they often apprentice people.
