So... where would you guys guess this all started? Toma, didn't know you were from Yugo. Explains some of your polarity.

I'd wager that the beginning of the corruption occurred in the decades post WW2 and prior to the JFK assassination. From that point, it spiraled wildly out of control.

I don't know how you missed this... You should have seen his posts about Slobodan Milošević. He thinks he is a regular hero and that he didn't butcher his own people and commit genocide. I mean all those allegations of war crimes are clearly only true when people throw them around about countries Toma hates...

He sure left a positive legacy in his country though:
The charges on which Milošević was indicted were: genocide; complicity in genocide; deportation; murder; persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds; inhumane acts/forcible transfer; extermination; imprisonment; torture; wilful killing; unlawful confinement; wilfully causing great suffering; unlawful deportation or transfer; extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly; cruel treatment; plunder of public or private property; attacks on civilians; destruction or wilful damage done to historic monuments and institutions dedicated to education or religion; unlawful attacks on civilian objects.

But what is weird is that Visa, Amazon, Paypal and this Swiss bank all are doing actions because they themselves are playing "judges" by claiming his actions of publishing the documents are "illegal". Problem is, no actual legal body has done anything claiming what he has done with the documents is illegal. This is scary how these corporations, which we trust, can suddenly just do what they want because they "deem it illegal." So what happens to all that money in Paypal that was donated by people worldwide, but currently is frozen? Paypal gets to keep it? Or do they return the money to the rightful owners?

Scary times ahead of all of us...
I agree with what you're saying, just wanted to mention that they've never said it's illegal though:

There have been reports that a government inquiry prompted us not to serve WikiLeaks any longer. That is inaccurate.

There have also been reports that it was prompted by massive DDOS attacks. That too is inaccurate. There were indeed large-scale DDOS attacks, but they were successfully defended against.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) rents computer infrastructure on a self-service basis. AWS does not pre-screen its customers, but it does have terms of service that must be followed. WikiLeaks was not following them. There were several parts they were violating. For example, our terms of service state that “you represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content… that use of the content you supply does not violate this policy and will not cause injury to any person or entity.” It’s clear that WikiLeaks doesn’t own or otherwise control all the rights to this classified content. Further, it is not credible that the extraordinary volume of 250,000 classified documents that WikiLeaks is publishing could have been carefully redacted in such a way as to ensure that they weren’t putting innocent people in jeopardy. Human rights organizations have in fact written to WikiLeaks asking them to exercise caution and not release the names or identities of human rights defenders who might be persecuted by their governments.

We’ve been running AWS for over four years and have hundreds of thousands of customers storing all kinds of data on AWS. Some of this data is controversial, and that’s perfectly fine. But, when companies or people go about securing and storing large quantities of data that isn’t rightfully theirs, and publishing this data without ensuring it won’t injure others, it’s a violation of our terms of service, and folks need to go operate elsewhere.

We look forward to continuing to serve our AWS customers and are excited about several new things we have coming your way in the next few months.

So the founder has been charged with not using a condom and failing to take an STD test with someone linked to the CIA?? All his accounts have been illegally frozen. His assassination has been called for. Web site being shut down. All this despite the guy having committed NO crime?

And yet... all a lot of you are saying is "meh?" That's fucking sad! It's still free speech that's being stomped on, even if you don't support what he's saying.

They are pursuing Wikileak on every loophole they can find.

Swiss account: Wrong address and money will be withdrawn and return to Assange

Visa/Mastercard/Paypal are a bit more sinister in their response since there is nothing illegal proven in court yet.

The CIA rape plant is pure dirty tactics.

Wikileaks lost me at Collateral Murder. At that point, they are no more creditable than Fox News. To me they are just another National Enquirer.

Freedom of speech is important but not when you put people in harm's way. These cable should be released but redacted.

Like this leak on China is fucking awesome without much harm.

In mid-December 2009, the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Institute of Plasma Physics (IPP) in Hefei, Anhui Province was preparing for another cycle of experiments with its Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). EAST was designed to be a controlled nuclear fusion tokamark reactor with superconductive toroidal and poloidal field magnets and a D-shaped cross-section. One of the experimental goals of this device was to prove that a nuclear fusion reaction can be sustained indefinitely, at high enough temperatures, to produce energy in a cost-effective way. In 2009, IIP successfully maintained a 10 million degree Celsius plasma nuclear fusion reaction for 400 seconds. IIP also successfully maintained a 100 million degree Celsius plasma nuclear fusion reaction for 60 seconds. One of IIP’s immediate goals is now to maintain a 100 million degree Celsius plasma nuclear fusion reaction for over 400 seconds. Currently, IIP is also conducting research into hybrid fusion-fission nuclear reactors that may be able to sustain nuclear reactions indefinitely, and at sufficient temperatures, to cost-effectively produce energy.

After Eisenhower, but the basics were laid down in the 20's and 30's IMO.

Problem is they are years behind the rest of the world...

The group constructed the first tokamaks, the most successful being the T-3 and its larger version T-4. T-4 was tested in 1968 in Novosibirsk, producing the first quasistationary thermonuclear fusion reaction ever.[9] The tokamak was dramatically more efficient than the other approaches of that era, so much so that the international community was highly sceptical. However, British team was invited to see T-4, and having measured it in depth they released their results that confirmed the Soviet claims.

Sustained chain reaction fusion with postive energy output has always been just out of reach.

I have no doubt that it would be the Chinese to figure it out first. Much like finding the best element and isotope for nuclear fission, Uranium 235/238/240 or plutonium 240.

It was just a matter of time before finding the best element and isotope for fusion. It still is assumed to be some form of lithium (Lithium 6, 7, 13?). Hydrogen combining to helium is actually not the best element - never has been, its just the one that requires the least energy input in to "start" with at an experimental level.

Thing is - you can't get the stranger types of lithium without fission, so you need the fission plant to create the fuel for the fusion plant. You can almost thank bomb makers for this - as they figured out very early that a fusion enhanced fission bomb, had more destructive capacity than a fission bomb itself (more energy output)

Chinese have always been metallurgists first. Oh yes, any oil producing country is f*cked if fusion is brought to market.

    And BTW: Gold is King.

Without any specifics, your claim is meaningless.

In reality, weapons (From rifles to nukes) will be made with components from a variety of sources. Some will be commodity, and some will be custom.

    :
You did read the list of places listed right? Do you honestly think that the US makes everything related to all their weapons? You should probably put down your drugs if you think that.

My cousin did long haul for a company that was contracted out by the Canadian military. Hauling parts for them sent him all over North America to wharehouses and universities in the US to pick up sealed shipments to bring to Canada for the military. Some shipments of course went south of the border also.

As easy as it is to believe this, I don't believe it's the case here. Best I can tell, it's a classic case of indignant lovers teaming up against a two-timer. Here's the sticky details:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...=feeds-newsxml

Summary: He was poking two females concurrently. The older one, a lifelong feminazi, found out, and contacted the other woman to file a joint police complaint. According to the article, the legal cornerstone of the cases rests upon a Swedish law that forbids sex without a condom. Incidentally, the feminazi had previous published a blog entry detailing how to get revenge on former lovers using legal means.

Is it just me, or does this scare the ever loving crap out of people? That is not just a little "Oh, think of the people/children" stuff, that is hardcore control of the society you live in.

Exactly. How is it different from the New York Times publishing the cables as well, which they did. After all, just like Wikileaks, someone just passed them the info.

Yes this may be stupid political gossip that was released, but the bigger picture is action that is being taken against him. Suddenly interpool gets involved over rape? There's tons of rapists out there, do they go after all of those? And keep in mind, no court has yet to begin charging him for any crimes regarding the release of these documents. It's all because he banged some chick...

The weakest point in the US oil chain is not the producer like Canada.

Its the refining capacity, which is running at 97% or so of demand.

The US can and will go into debt to import more raw crude - but they cannot refine more without 5 years worth of refining upgrades. Time is more an enemy to the US than money.

The weakest point of North Korea? Rogue generals who are not sure of Kim Jong Un ability to rule a military. Kim Jong Un, probably will have to have an extreme show of force to maintain control of his generals.

If the US gets attacked, it will be a good thing. Explaination: This will solidify Un's seat of power, meaning that future diplomats will only have to deal with Un. If Un appears weak before his generals, there is a good chance that one or all will go "rogue" each taking a nuke with them. Which means that the US will have to deal with a group of generals, which the US has particular difficulty with.

Its the much lesser of two evils for the US to be attacked now - rather than later. Probably why they put the sabre in the paintcan mixer.
