Oscar winner. Wife was watching the Oscars last night and thought the movie sounded interesting. Downloaded last night and watched it when I got home.
Really interesting, no wonder it won the Oscar.

Restrepo is also another, from the Oscars as well.
Meh had a leftist slant. Kind of expected with a $20 million documentary narrated by Matt Damon. Nothing new or insightful. More like newspaper clippings and mainstream media video clips complied into a documentary. Whitewashed a lot of the responsibility of government policy and the actions of the fed and put the blame on deregulation and incentives when the truth is a combination of all factors. Highlighted a lot of problems but offered a false conclusion. Interviews with high profile people were nothing more than short sound bites. They never let anybody flesh out a complete answer and just edited small sound bites for sensationalism. Really cheap documentary tactics resembling a Michael Moore piece. However it wasn’t terrible. It did provide a lot of truth and facts. Just take them with a grain of salt and forum your own conclusions after doing your own research. I’d rate it a 5/10 based on production value alone.
Finally got around to watching this.
Great documentary thanks for posting it. Good focus on driving its point home, providing first hand facts and information from primary interview sources and presenting it in a clear and concise manner.
It's been very clear now for some time that the US government is in bed with the financial system, from not only the facts presented, but also connecting the dots along to the way to our current state of affairs. Really boils your blood, I'm not religious but if there is a hell I really hope those involved get what's coming to them in some shape or form.

^^ I just watched this too...Let's hope more and more people catch on to what is going on with the financial markets in the US so that people understand the depth of corruption that is rampant in these big firms.. and the need for proper regulation when it involves such large transactions and taxpayer's dollars.Originally posted by v2kai
