I haven't read book 5 yet, but I thought there might be too much content to combine the 2 books into 1 season. I thought that maybe they'd combine the books, but still have 2 seasons out of them. As in, first half of the 2 books as one season, and then the second half of the 2 books as another season.

A lot does happen in that timeframe, hopefully they don't rush anything.

I just started 5 last week. It would be too much content between 4&5 for only one season. They could be combined but it would be pretty confusing with all of the different story lines going on.

I read an article where they mentioned that they only plan on doing 7 seasons in total. They are splitting book 3 into 2 seasons and putting books 4 and 5 into one season and then I guess they have to hope that the last 2 books are ready by then.

My understanding is that the deal they had to do the show, is that George R R Martin had to tell them how it ended, in case he doesn't live that long. He's a big, old, guy who smokes all the time haha. I don't know if he'll last until book 7 at the going rate.

I don't really recall either, it's been a while since I've read it, but I don't believe so. I don't even recall a part where they run into each other like that. He escapes from the wildlings, makes it back to Castle Black, and the next time they see each other is when the wildlings invade the wall. At least that's how I remember it.

my prediction.......many deaths, several castles gunna get burned down, and eventually the dragons will show up and save the day.

the guy who killed rob at the wedding is gunna get cursed......not sure how to predict that turn of events but that old fuk is gunna get effed over bad!!!
