If your refering to windows phone 7 then maybe....but windows 7 (PC) will never make it onto a tegra 2 device. They aren't the same architechture.Originally posted by Thaco
looking at the acer iconic looks very nice, but no IPS screen, and shorter batter life
however i do like the idea of Windows 7 on there, but it looks like that increases the price by $100
Also the eee pad TF101, not even released in NA yet, has been rooted maybe we can put w7 on this thing afterall

let's hope the 16gb stays @ that price when it's actually released.
just looking at the specs of the GPU which is a 1ghz Nvidia Tegra 2, WOW basically on level with some 5 year old console games - in a tablet:
it runs unreal engine 2 this smoothly:
some of these are potentially able to run on it then:

in other news, on the EEE pad website, if you go and click the Download tab, that is the source code for Honeycomb 3.0 which google hasnt even officially released yet
I believe Thaco is referring to the Acer iconia W500 tablet, it does in fact run a PC version of windows 7. I haven't looked at the specs but it would be safe to assume it uses a x86 based processor.Originally posted by spike98

No. No, it's not. It's their kernel sources and that's all.Originally posted by n1zm0

however i think the w500 is AMD based, so that could be why it can run it.

I read the artical and have been following the news. That is a build of windows 8. Not 7. So my point still stands. You wont see windows 7 on a tegra 2 chip.
It is exciting however, owning an atrix, it would be fanfreakingtastic to have a windows OS on the webtop partition. VCDS from my cell phone makes me hard in the pants.
Is there a wireless connector now to skip USB?Originally posted by spike98
VCDS from my cell phone makes me hard in the pants.
My old netbook is now strictly for running VCDS.
No not specifically for VCDS, however....there is a few mobile apps out there that use OBDII to perform some none vagcom specific functions and are wireless/bt.Originally posted by Xtrema

But most new smartphones have USB host capabilities. There will be some driver hurtles but still within reach now. Its a lot more likely then rosstech making a mobile platform specific app.
I would seriously give a testicle (or...god forbid, switch to an iphone again) if i could use VCDS from my smartphone.
EDIT: Steering more OT, rosstech is currently working on a web application of VCDS that they are pushing to be used for mobile devices accross all applications but i dont know much about it.

Stupid delays
This thing is worse than crack, i am almost tempted to drive the US to buy it at the end of the month if there's no Canadian info announced soon.

Yup, I wanted one for my trip, but couldn't risk the delays anymore so I bought a 64gb 3G iPad instead from a friend. Bummer I was looking forward to the ASUS tablet.Originally posted by Thaco

Read a review saying the OS was not as response as iOS. I think I'll have to try before I buy.
it's a first version release of an OS, you cant expect it to be perfect and compete with apple who has been in the tablet market for 2 years now. It's so in demand, i don't think you'll have a chance to "try it" before you buy it, they'll be gone before they hit the shelf.Originally posted by Thomas Gabriel
