What?!? It's been an hour since the robbery and no thread yet on beyond?

I walked by moments after it happened, but before cops got there. I had stopped to help some street people gather up a bunch of spilled coins on the ground, until a cop showed up and yelled at me for messing with the crime scene...

I just just imagine the crackhead who robbed the bank: "I want $75 in unmarked quarters..."

Dammit, missed all the action.

I just went down to the growd level of the Scotia Centre and looked out onto 2nd street. Bunch of police blocking the 2nd Street/7th aven entrance to TD Square, along with a police van and cruiser parked out front. I initially thought that some of the officers were wearing riot helmets, but on closer inspection I realized that they were just bike helmets .

Were they silver quarters? Silver quarters are worth about $5.50 nowadays.

In the process of kicking strewn quarters into a pile to facilitate picking up by street people, I wasn't able to examine either dates or composition, but my best guess is that they were just a pile of regular quarters.
