Default What gear were you wearing when you went down?

Just curious to what gear everyone was wearing when they went down and how well did you fair?

Hopefully I never have an experiance to share but I have:
    A Soumy leather/ textile jacket
    A alpinestars textile jacket
    Alpinestars gauntlet style gloves
    Alpinestars SMX 5 boots
    Icon mainframe lid

Track pants, skate shoes and a hoodie. I was 18 at the time. Didn't fare well haha, fortunately I was only doing about 40km/h cause I was doing a rolling burnout.

I'm a little smarter now with how I ride and what I wear

Always boots (full height), jacket, and some textile pants most of the time. Not leather, but better than jeans.

    Dainese Santa Monica Jacket
    Joe Rocket Ballistic textile pants
    Alpine Star Web Goretex Boots
Dainese full gauntlet gloves (can't remember the model)
    Shoei RF1000

Spun the tire in a puddle, then when it hit dry pavement it basically wheelied sideways into a mini van...my fault, riding beyond the conditions.

    Me - Not a scratch
The bike - total write off, the repair estimate was over double the black book value of the bike...oops. My buddy bought it off me and spent like 1500 to get it back to street legal...he won't let me ride it again though...the asshole :P

Low sides it going about... Can't remember the speed.

Tore through the jeans, few stitches on knee. Now it's nothing but leathers.

Bike was written off due the amount of scratches/nicks on several body parts and had to be replaced as per insurance.

Only time I went down was before I had bought any of my gear, but it was a low-speed low side.

I haven't gone down but I wear full leather race suit by alpine stars. I have gp tech gloves and sidi boots. I also wear an alpine stars back protector.

Dianese Laguna Seca racing suit w/built in armour - has saved my skin more than once, despite it not being from falling off a bike - but similar.

11 years of riding now, and I haven't gone down. I did fall over in a parking lot once when my passenger decided to try and dismount without telling me.

Wasn't brutal but wasn't that good either. Lots of road rash and bruising but nothing broken. Pretty sure it would have been a lot less if I was wearing gear.

i had a quarter-sized bruise from something landing on my thigh.

When I was 18...(15 yrs ago). Violent tank slapper and went airborne. Was wearing a leather jacket (without armor), jeans, skate shoes, no gloves.

    - Right Arm of jacket was nearly gone, both shoes fell off, jeans were ripped up.

I learned my lesson. Always wear Dainese jacket, Cortech leather over-pants, and a full back protector. Sidi boots, cortech gloves, Arai Vector helmet now. Even if I'm just going around the block. Don't feel safe without the gear.

Icon leather jacket, hjc fs15 helmet, aplinestars smx boots(shorter ones) alpinestars leather gloves with cf knuckles and gauntlets. Went down in a round about when I hit gravel on the outer edge at night. Was able to get up and ride onwards. Elbow protector in the jacket did it's job. No scratches on me. Hip was a bit sore at times for the following couple of weeks. Was wearing a leather belt on my jeans, and landed on that as well. But no padding provided by a belt, hence why my hip was sore.

    HJC IS-16

    Big back pack

Got put into the shoulder on Deerfoot going about 60. Bike had just some fairing damage, I didn't have a scratch on me and was not even sore.

I honestly don't even know how it was possible. No cars even ran me over... I got lucky in every aspect in that crash. Both me and my bike flew into the shoulder and stayed sliding in the shoulder for a good 20M. I think my backpack saved me from the roadrash, I was kinda like a turtle on its back.
