James Michael Bradwell, 33, of Calgary is facing charges after a serious hit-and-run Saturday morning sent a woman to hospital with serious injuries. Bradwell has been charged with one count each of hit and run causing injury, hit and run – property and refusal to provide a breath sample, according to the Calgary Police Service. Around 12:40 a.m. a car with two occupants was struck by a pickup truck at John Laurie Boulevard and 14 Street N.W. A male victim suffered minor injuries, while a female victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EMS. Police allege Bradwell fled the scene and was arrested a short time later after an off-duty officer noticed a truck with fresh damage. He contacted the District Sergeant and continued to follow the vehicle while directing marked units to the location. Once marked units came on scene, police say Bradwell bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot into the darkness in the community of North Haven. Police quickly contained the area. As the offender attempted to elude officers by running through the yards, numerous citizens contacted police his location. With the assistance of the HAWC helicopter the offender was spotted attempting to hide in a residential area. Bradwell was subsequently taken into custody by Canine and patrol officers without incident. Bradwell’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011.

I don't mind reading about these things I just wish we didn't have to get the information through this idiot.
Yeah I dont mind reading these things either.
On topic: This may seem illogical and immoral but, if you were drunk driving and smoked another car it seems like your best bet IS to run and just settle with a hit-and-run rather than a DUI? If you run they cant prove your were drunk and then when you get caught later your just left with a hit and run charge, where if you stay your left with a DUI...
To my knowledge a DUI carries a far worse penalty than a hit-and-run.
Meh, everyone is so good at copy and pasting article on Beyond that it doesn't really bother me that much.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

I'm making the assumption you mean "why", not we. The reason I have is that he is like a spambot. I would appreciate Markham's work a lot more if he:Originally posted by SlickA70

1) Posted it rather than linked it
2) Maybe offered an opinion or tried to start a conversation about the subject
For all we know, Markham IS a bot

Hmmm, yeah guess he is a bot.
Good eyes on the cop though, noticing fresh damage and calling it in, the driver will get his.
His writing is pretty suspect for a professional. It's like it's never even proof read.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
I like reading the stories, but only once they are C'd and P'd. Mostly, I like reading the Markham hack sessions.
