    Default Fireplace pot light deleted

I'm having a house built and I have two pot lights above the fire place. I took some pictures during the build and everything looks great. Then the next week, I had a look and the pot lights were gone, wtf? Is there some code that you can't have them or something? I emailed the builder and haven't heard back yet. They started to insulate now, and I'm getting worried. Anyone know of any inspection issue that would require these pot lights to be deleted? I really want them.

    Did you pay for them?

I have the same setup and so far, mine are still there. I haven't done my framing walk through yet. Who is your builder and where are you building?

Ya I paid for them, The two pot lights have been in the plan since day one. It is so strange. Maybe because I have a vertical chimney?

I'm building with beattie in Wentworth.

I would not be too concerned - once you get in touch with the builder you will have all your questions answered.

Wacky stuff like this happens when building a house. In mine, they actually framed an entire window, then ended up boarding it up and siding over it. ? Really?

But stay on them for sure until you get your answer.

Ya I can't see anything wrong code wise. If you paid for it then don't worry. If they miss it before its drywalled they will never to rip it back down to make it right.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the electricians moved them to another part of the house or another house completely that is getting drywalled right away. And they will be replacing yours as soon as they come in.

My only experience with disappearing electrical was that the drywallers would just go right over top of them without noticing...

This is a weird one. If they needed the pots for another room right away, then why take the switch too? lol...

Something isn't right here... can't wait to hear what happened.

Yeah for them to take the switch out proves they were definitely deleted. Sounds like the builder messed up and didn't realize you paid for them.

Which would be absolutely retarded since they were already roughed in. You would think when they notice two fireplace lights that aren't standard they would check the plans. And they had to have been on there since the electrical company got it right the first time.

Man I must have been on crack. I guess I requested those pot lights to be deleted. I even signed the form. It was a semi-misunderstanding. I wanted the pot light moved around, not deleted. I guess you should read what you sign. Too late to add them now, since the builder thinks 2 -3 weeks to reply to an email is acceptable (if your lucky). And they didn't even move the other ones to the right spot.
