So my Aunt gave a set of keys to her car and house to her now ex boyfriend. She wants her keys back and he will not return her calls or answer the door. Is there anything she could do other than calling it a day and changing the locks?

If the situation can't be resolved amicably with a simple conversation, and/or the ex is impossible to get a hold of, or if the relationship ended badly - just change the locks. Probably a lot less hassle and stress at the end of the day.
Or maybe he's just on vacation?
