Default Honda Lease Return with winter tires?

My fiances civic is in need of new tires, and her lease is up in June, so I am contemplating getting winter tires for the OEM rims and returning it with them.

Is that fine as long as they tires are the correct size/rating etc or do they need to be all season?

    Thanks.

Most lease returns will not take winters.

You can return with Summers or all seasons, but not winters... go figure.

I have heard winters are a no go.

Isn't this like a 30 second phone call you could make to honda yourself though?

Well, I know someone who returned a WRX with winters and all is well. It's been almost 10 months since and no phone call or anything. You could always try.

Honda changed the rules a little while ago and winter tires are good. (Unless this has changed again.)

I know this is unrelated but BMW/Mini does not accept winters, you need to have the original or equivalent tires on the car from date of purchase. I would imagine Honda is the same otherwise people would be keeping their si wheels and returning the car on winters with steelies.

this is important cause i know with Acura you do not have to have the exact same tire but all load ratings etc... must be the same as orginal or better. you can not put on a cheap set of tires when returning.
