When I worked for UPS at the airport that Cargolux 747 used to be there every Wednesday - is that no longer the case? I always remember how tiny our A300 looked in comparison.

I'm really not too sure what the cargo schedule is like. I set up an alert on flight aware so every time the 748 comes in, it sends me an email. Planes are landing from the south this morning.

So any idea when the take-off is then? I work evenings and disappointed I won't be able to see it land.

Just in time for the possible AC strike, possible the union will be picketing around the area?

It's picking up some natural gas plant skids from Enerflex. The plane will not be full. It'll be about 1/3 full. It's final destination is Nigeria.

I suppose they will be loading it at the north then as enerflex is in that area?

You'd have to follow the wind forecast for tomorrow and see what runways Calgary Tower is using.

But an aircraft of that size, it will most definitely be landing on 16 or 34. So it'll be landing north or south, depending on the winds.

www.liveatc.net if you want to hear it come in.

I think it'll be loading at the south end. The 124 was scheduled initially but it was struck by lightning in Seattle. So, the 225 is coming but it'll be very empty.

so about 10 minutes out I'd probably hear him on 125.900 getting his clearance and then he'd switch over to 118.400 as he came in? or do I have that backwards?

Yeah, pretty much. Around 10 or 12,000ft, Center will hand them to Arrival. You'll hear them get clearance to descend, and turn to final approach. After that, they're handed off to Calgary Tower.

After landing, you can listen to em on Calgary Ground, either on 121.9 or 125.35, depending on whether they land on the North or South end.

Apparently the Delay was due to a hydraulic fault of some kind. It's currently flying to Minneapolis, no outgoing flight plan filed yet.

You have to listen to Edmonton Centre to find what frequency they get handed off to. A lot of times they use terminal for arrivals. You could always just use flightaware
