Default Anyone Know When The Antonov Leaves?

I have been working on a project with my daughter and we were wondering if anyone knows when the Antonov departs Calgary? I heard it was in the "wee" hours in the morning of April 29th but that is all I can find out. Any info would be greatly appreciated. We were thinking of going to watch it take off.
    Thanks

I was about to ask what it is, but then I googled it instead. Holy mother that is a beast!

If you visit that site, you can look over some of the departures/arrivals and maybe you can spot it.

Thanks dino I will check out the site and hopefully it will narrow down the departure time.
The Antonov rarely visits Calgary and both my daughter and myself are very interested in seeing it and watching it take to the skies! (unless its too dark )

It's an amazing thing to see. Takes up most of the runway just to get off the ground and the climb is very slow.

Is it an An-225 or An-124?

The 225 is the largest in the world... the 124 is much more common (I think there is only one 225 currently operational).

Good question.....I hope it is the 225 but even if it is the 124 it would still be interesting to see.

I think it is the An-124. Heading out to Gander and then to Kazakhstan.

^ I have been searching through the flight tracker as well and have yet to find the flight info. It seems that it will not allow me to search further into the following day.....I have no clue on how to use the site either...... I hope we don't miss the take off

It's not a regular scheduled departure so maybe that's why we cant find the info

225 or 124 we still would like to see the rare take off

well, it is going to require the 3 mile runway in order to take off, so departure will either be to the north or south, and not off one of the smaller runways.

next, try and figgure out what time it will take off

about 20 mins before departure time, check the wind direction, take offs and landings are always INTO (as much as possible) the wind.

If wind is coming more from the North, head to airport trail and try to guess where the runway would line up, and pull over. If the wind is coming from the south (less likely) head on over to the mowhawk parking lot off of 12th and mcknight.

I didn't think our runway was built for an aircraft of this size/weight?

    Interesting though. Wicked plane.

    Sure it was.

I've seen an An-124 coming into YYC along Deerfoot before.

I watched it land outside of my office window. It made our 737-700 look like a paper plane! lol
