I'm seeking a mobile data stick option. It will be a low-use, low-traffic application.
Want to keep cost low. Don't mind pre-paying to this end.
Am already with Rogers for cell, but can consider all options.
TIV.

What about just tethering to your phone?
Ya if you have a data plan on your cell, tethering would be a good option if the usage is going to low. Most capped data plans include tethering, but changing to one would likely be cheaper than having a total separate payment for the stick data.
I don't know if they make em or not, but if you could find an unlocked stick (do they make those??) and that supports Mobilicity, and if u just going to use it in the city, then mobilicity unlimited data at $25 a month (includes unlimited talk and txt as well but you won't be using those) could work. Never looked into this but thought about it myself, or yah, just tether.
Here, they sell a data stick

Don't know if you have to choose a special data plan for this or if their $25 back to school plan would work with this as well.
They are still calling it "back to school" plan and we are almost at the end of March?Originally posted by eblend

^ This. To get a free stick they'll want you to sign a three year term. Most smart phone data plans will offer free tethering. Even the cheapest iPhone plan at $50 offers it. I cancelled my stick and now just use either my wife's android or my iPhone.Originally posted by schocker

Yah I know, don't why or care why they call it that, I just know I got unlimited call, txt and data for $25 for perpetuity for both myself and my wife, and thats good enough for me, and yes, I get reception everywhere I have been so far, so no issues there.Originally posted by Xtrema

By the way, mobilicity unlimited data for the data stick is $40/month
Update:
Went with Wind Moblile.
Stick was $30 with first month prepaid. Monthly cost is $25/3GB.
Signup was easy. The setup was easy as well.
Very pleased.
Huh. Interesting. What phone/plan do you have? My iPhone comes with 5 gb included in the plan.Originally posted by LollerBrader
