Looking into replacing the filter on my injen cai, but I'm not sure which one to go with.
an injen filter is listed on ebay at $75 (ship incl) but I found an AEM dryflow for a few bucks cheaper at $69, so is there a clear winner here?

I'd just go to Mopac/JB's and get a K&N.
Cheaper, and you don't have to wait for it to arrive.
Isn't going to make a difference in power.
I just run it for a year then throw it out.
$40 bucks once a year is nothing.
Pricier than a K&N at first, but replacement inserts are like 30 bucks and should be available locally. I won't run filters with mesh after losing a brand new turbo to one.

$50 for the AEM at Mopac today picked one up for my integra.
sounds like it's a good idea to stop by an auto supply shop to see if they have the aem in the size im looking for instead of ordering. i heard jb's also sells afe but not sure if they're any good.
edit: is it only important to match the flange inside diameter or is there a point to matching the height/other diameters with the filter im replacing?

I agree, K&N's get a bad rap but I think most of the issues come from people cleaning them too often. I've never had an issue with them.Originally posted by Sentry

I dont like those K&Ns because they use oil. When you buy them new they are great and all but after you try to do a restoration on in and apply new oil its very easy to over apply and end up coating all your sensors with oil. Makes everything dirty.
Yeah it's just a less is more when it comes to applying and sop up the excess with an old sock if you overdo it. As long as you let it dry properly there are no problems. Like I say, most problems are caused by people who think they need to clean them all the time when in reality , they work better with a light coating of dirt.Originally posted by Redlined_8000
