Default Tax Question (double paying CPP and EI)

EDIT: THREAD FAIL. IT APPEARS THERE IS A SPOT ON THE T1 GENERAL (lines 448 and 450) FOR OVERPAYMENT

Quick question for you guys, and I would really appreciate your input...

So a little background info: I had two jobs last year, first job from Jan 1, 2011 - March 30, 2011 and the second job (different company) from March 31 - present. Not surprisingly, I had two t4's

Anyways, I was working on my taxes this evening and kept f*cking them up because my numbers weren't adding up. After further investigation I discovered that I was charged CPP and EI on BOTH t4's. One shows that I paid the max amount of CPP and EI, the other shows that I paid 3/4 of the maximums (I think it is $2217.60 and $786.86 respectively)

I tried putting these in my return but the instructions say that I can only claim the maximum I.E> $2217.60 and $786.86.

So what do I do to get back my CPP and EI overpayment?

    Thanks in advance

Seems like you found what to do. I highly recommend using StudioTax software to do your return. It's free and all you do is input the numbers from your T4 and other slips and voila, return done. Don't have to worry about missing a calculation.
