Parking Drama

Okay so we got a new guy at work and is causing some drama over parking. He is saying that a spot we have been using for parking for over 2 years in now a illegal parking spot and is threatening to have the next vehicle towed that parks there... I made a very quick sketch to give you a idea of whats going on.



now hes saying that the brown/blue car is illegally parked even though there is a no parking sign to the right of the car saying no parking right of sign and the car is left of the sign... and there is room to the left of the mech room door to put the sign there if they want the whole area to be no parking.

as well he has absolutely NO problem with the 2 brown cars even though they are not marked parking spaces (no lines and no parking blocks)

its not a huge deal but im really bored and would like to be able to tell him to pound sound on his next rage without a fear of someone getting a ticket...

We go through this with our condo sometimes - people parking in yellow-curb-marked areas of the lanes (no parking)....however there are locations which are unmarked and un-impeding of any traffic flow - which would be totally legal to park in.

Your co worker is trying to get on someones bad side, but he fails at eing correct. If the vehicle is essentially blocking a wall (door is not used) and there are no signs or painted areas, then he can pound sand.

This is private property as well (im guessing) so only management can authorize towing.

It seems that these types of people are getting more prominent in the working world. Ive experienced a good handful of these guys trying to make a point, only to piss me off in the end.

Why can't people just sit back, and learn to do things then go from there?
I just left my last job (for irrelevant reasoning), but i was showing a new guy the ropes, then i go to do my job and get him to do the grunt work, then he pulls a "no i'll do this, you can do that (referring to me doing the shit job giving him the better one". Nope buddy... Doesn't work that way

Honestly why don't you just take it up with management? Tell them that the guy is threatening to tow employees vehicles. If management doesn't have a problem with that you are probably SOL but if they do then your problem is solved.

Is the brown/blue car blocking proper/easy access into the mech room infront of it. Does the new employee require a level of accessibility for equipment or such?
It might not be an issue with the law, it might be more, the new guy doesn't know you all and likes to do his job right, while the old guy doing whatever tasks involved went out of his way to convinience brown/blue??
