Default Girl who helped murder family re-entering society

You guys probably remember the girl who killed her family in Medicine Hat ......

Just watched the news she has a new identity (original identity also can't be released) and is currently living and working in Calgary and is also attending post-secondary.

    What are your thoughts?

I've actually met this person, and all though she might be a little rough arround the edges; given what's shes gone through, I think she's doing very well.

I think given her age at the time, and her now current level of self restitution, we as a society should leave her alone as the girl who helped murder her parents and embrace her as a regular person trying to find her place in life.

    She doesn't need special attention.

I agree, one of the many great things we do as Canadians is not abandon people...

She was very young when all that stuff happened. Hate me if you want but her identity should be protected and she should be allowed an opportunity to re-integrate with society, she should be heavily monitored though!

    None of our business...

WTF @ leave her alone? She helped murder her family .... string her up and let her die a slow painful death.

You can't rehabilitate people like that.

Maybe we need suspended life sentences for people like her. So if she is convicted of any major crime as an adult, her youth crime suspended sentence puts her in jail for 25 years anyhow. You'd think that'd be an incentive to stay on the right path.

How old was the chick again? And they released her after alot of doctor and psychological testing? Or just because the court let her go?

On a side note ... How much does it cost a year for tax payers to have someone in a Maximum Security facility ?

$113K a year for room and board in a federal prison, not counting the police work, trial, release programs, etc. Maybe Canada could offshore this and cut costs?

Yeah, Kritafo was head of the lynch mob. I think she lost a week of sleep cause of it.

I think there are many assumptions to the quality of life she lived In her younger years, and the actions that took place wich lead to the tragedy she committed.

One way to see thins is like a dog raised soley for fighting will only know how to rip tear and destroy, same goes for rescue, drug, and competition dogs.

That being said, Humans are by far more complicated that the simple mind of an animal. At 11 years old she was completely impressionable, especially from an older male who was engaged in sexual relations with her.

All in all she was indeed a victim of her own actions. What makes her story worth forgetting is the fact that she has made as much progress as she has in society.
Afaik she completely regrets what took place and now understands the total grandeur of her life taking mistake.

Plus she already murdered them, so it's not like she can do it again.

She slit her younger brothers throat, that bugs me. I don't want her anywhere near any of my family members or friends. I think our whole youth criminal act is a joke.

No psychologist but how do to help someone who killed family in cold blood?

If she feel guilty, she would be in a wreck. If she doesn't , she is just a psychopath.
