There will be no serious incentives on the 2015's F150's until the dealer lots are fully stocked with them. As far as I know, the Kansas City truck plant isn't even up and running with the new platform, so it'll be at least a month or two after that. What few 2015's are arriving at dealers are being snapped up by folks who have to have the latest and greatest at whatever price, so they don't need to put much of a discount on them.

From my informal look at Universal and Marlbrough dealerships, I'd say they are currently sitting at a mix of 80% 2014's to 20% 2015's.
Could probably swing a screamin deal on the 2014's, although that's not terribly appealing to me.

If I was buying a new truck this year, I'd probably be planning on picking it up in the fall.

I am looking for an August delivery so that works well for me.

What's everyones take on the 3.5L Ecoboost?

I love it. Much more balls than the two 5.4L trucks I've owned.
    Two common complaints:
    - Quiet, yup it doesn't sound like a V8. I like that. The 2015's apparently have some kind of audio enhancement. Haven't heard it.

    - Poor Fuel economy when towing, based on my calculations, it gets slightly better than my 5.4L ever did when towing, and MUCH better empty both city and highway. If you tow every day, you'll need to look at this closely. If you tow a few time a year, it's no big deal, and power is awesome.

Based on my good experiences with the 3.5 EcoBoost, I wouldn't buy any other engine.

ecoboost is pretty ridiculious in power

power of a v8 and fuel economy close to a V8...

you have to drive quite prudently to achieve decent figures on a 2014...

that being said, its built quite solid, and is more capable than most V8's at our altitude... with a stock exhaust you barely hear the thing, even towing

so far I'm quite happy with my ecoscrew

FYI, 2016 will have new HP for the 3.5 Ecoboost platforms. possibly 500hp+

Ford has patented the name "EcoBeast" so expect some high numbers from the
    3.5 in the future.

The 6.2 mill is discontinued for the raptor and the F150 line, but will be available in the SuperDuty class trucks.

A possible alternative is the new 5cyl 3.2 diesel liter that is being offered in the new transits, but Ford HQ has already stated that they have no interest to produce light duty diesel vehicles, so don't hold your breath.

I have some related pics to share, once I get a chance to upload them.

I assume the Ecobeast is = Raptor?

500HP in a truck would be quite a bit but the existing engine would be more than enough for me.

Not to mention Full-Race has some pretty interesting modifications if it was to become boring.

New pistons for sure, the current ones collapse with a hint of detonation. no word yet on engine builds

are there any engine differences between the last gen and the 2015's?

(I mean outside of the CAC sizing and turbo mm (48 vs 51)

I haven't really heard to much about the 2016/17 builds, they release service info a week or two prior to vehicle launch.

I don't suspect that they will increase intercooler size, as the current one suffers from condensation build up with low boost/pedal applications, due to being too large already, some of the early models had a revision for the CAC to install a smaller unit, and block its thermal efficiency with a dam as the bottom quarter of the core

Turbo's will more than likely be larger, as this will the source for higher numbers.

was more curious about the new 2015 models, in the case they fixed anything.

That being said, yah like I think you said... the engine likes to be worked, otherwise the CAC condenses...
being that we in Calgary are high elevation and low humidity, have you seen issues?

ill have to do the 2015 webcourse to give some info, and also grab one from the lot to look at.

I was able to see one pre-release at SAIT in November, but wasn't able to poke around.

I should probably pull my intercooler one of these days and see how much crap is in it.

AFE Stage II CAI, 32hp and 35lb/ft torque. seems more peppy, and can notice the difference at higher RPMs. Sounds nice, not invasive at all, but definitely can hear the turbo more.

    oh, that is gross.

I wonder if I should pull mine off and flush it as I am up over 80,000kms on it now

IIRC you have a accessport on your truck right? That particular intake definitely needs a tuner to run properly, I've had issues with those here at work.

I think if you are able to hit boost every now and then you should be fine, the condensation is a result of light turbo input which only heats up the air enough to condense in the intercooler.

High boost pressure(and heat) will dry it out over time.

Not sure. I'm not much of a mechanic. What shop are you at? Maybe I'll book a quick tune with you.

if you didnt buy an accessport (or any tuner) then you dont have one on your truck, he also works at a dealer... so i dont think he'd be able to tune it at the shop for you.... i know the boys at vex are dying to get one of these on the dyno to play with though

On a stock tune, I think the engine has more than sufficient airflow to accomodate it (based on what I can find on other forums)

In regards to the oil condensing in the CAC, its something that appears to happen EVERYwhere but may be especially bad in cold weather (according to another Ford tech)

He has had to use a gas torch on one that had 90000 miles in Palm Springs to loosen the crap up and let it pour out.

Like you said, he recommends to drive the truck at full wack.

Rick, is there any way that if we disconnect the BOV using the quick connect, prevent oil from gathering in the CAC?
I'm assuming its more than just the BOV gasses that are condensing though.
