Anyone know where I can look for cheap motorcycle insurance?
What coverage should I look for? I was thinking of just liability and maybe collision (tight budget). Its for a used 07 R6.

Blue Circle insurance isn't bad, especially if you are just looking for bare bones insurance.
P.s. try the search function..
no alarms and no surprises
I've gone through Nordic
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
+1 for Blue Circle..
i went to nordic, but check out state farm as they go on CCs instead of type of bike
This has been covered before, but since everyone is chiming in...
You're going to end up through Nordic one way or another. Even if you went with Blue Circle, you're still going through Nordic.
Nordic = High risk vehicles = $$$
If you had a standard bike, you might be eligible to get coverage through Jevco, which is cheaper.
Blue Circle, Landy, whatever, etc., will go through Nordic or Jevco. That is my understanding. You just purchase the coverage through them, that's all.
Where's Masked Bandit to confirm this? I could very well be out to lunch.
**As an example, the quote I got from Blue Circle and Landy was different by about $5 or so. Reason being, they both went through Jevco, who sets the rates. Blue Circle and Landy just sell the insurance.

^^Yep I ended up with Nordic.
19yo, 07 r6, everything except collision = $722/year. Not bad.

In theory, the same bike (like an R6) for the same person who is going to end up at Nordic SHOULD be the same price from all brokers as it is Nordic that sets the price, not the broker. For some reason though I often have clients tell me that our Nordic price is different from other broker's Nordic pricing? The only thing I can think of that would cause that is someone not calculating correctly on the other end.

well how cheap can it get for a 18 year old getting his first bike soon?
~$500 if you've got a clean record and get the bare minimum.Originally posted by ubernewb

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
Where can I get it from? And would they give me a quote?
I went through Bearspaw insurance (broker).
Talk to Chuck, he's a really good guy; make sure you mention if you have any riding courses.

check with your car insurance broker... you have to go through a broker no matter what.. i'm with nordic
I called Lundgren and Young (broker) and they give you quotes for Nordic insurance.
I was with Co-Operators and wanted to make a change. I phoned Blue Circle several years ago and they recommended I call State Farm. I talked to State Farm and their bike insurance for my Harley was 1/2 of anyone else. Only catch was that all my cars had to be with them. When it was all said and done I saved 1/2 on my bike and my car insurance stayed about the same.
anyone have a bad driving record and have a bike ??? and how much are you paying?
Anyone got an idea for a 17 yr old with a 250cc? Does car insurance reduction class help lower it as well?

Depends on how bad your record is. Your best bet is to call the guy I listed above (or any other broker) and ask for a quote.

I went through blue circle and my insurance on my 2007 ZX6R was about $650 for the year plus a $100 "service fee."
