I still eat meat, but I am cutting down drastically and trying to avoid anything processed. I don't want to turn this into a debate, I don't buy into fear mongering, but there is very obvious and proven links (by very credible sources) that link to the diets we have here in North America and the rates of preventable diseases and huge increase in health issues and weight since the 1980s. I worry about the overall state of health of people these days, especially the young, going into old age. And obviously at the point we are at we are still not able to figure out the long-term impacts of lots of the stuff that is being put into food these days, since it seems like every once in awhile now a link to health issues and a modern food processing and synthesized ingredients are being found.Originally posted by 89coupe

Your body needs meat, trust me. The key is moderation.
My gf and my friend's gf are both vegan. They shop at Planet Organic or Community Foods for certain items, but can also find some good things at Superstore. It's good to reduce processed food. I would tend to be weary of soy products however.

Check out Hearts Choices at the farmer's market:

They got some really tasty selections and run by a really nice couple. You can pretty much sample anything there. If you spend over $100 or something like that, you get a 20% discount and they're always throwing in extra things for free if you buy enough stuff. I usually wait until my sister and mom run low and we go get a big order together. It's nice keeping a few packs of this stuff around for a quick, easy meal.
Some of my personal favs:
Black Pepper Steak
Citrus Spare Ribs
Ginger Chicken
Kung Pow Chicken
Lemon Chicken
