May as well keep it here. It's not like this thread is too active anyways.
I figured Seabrook was a lock. Weird to see Marleau without Thornton.
I'm glad Benn is on there. Need more time to look at this.
The only head scratcher for me was Nash since he's been pretty average this year especially since there are better options. And yeah, Marleau seems like an odd selection without Jumbo Joe.
It's unfortunate MSL was left off. Not sure what else the guy can do. He won the Art Ross last year for crying out loud, and he's been solid even without Stamkos this year. His speed and shiftiness would come in handy on the big ice.
I don't mind Marleau, he's an under appreciated player with great speed. I'm not sure I like Carter on the team over guys like MSL, Giroux, Thornton, Seguin etc.
As for d-men, the weird desire to have 4 lefties and 4 righties really screwed Seabrook and Boyle. I don't know if i like Hamhuis over those guys.
Nash is probably on their because of his foot speed (he's fast as fuck). The experience, and he's a good two way player. Everything Babcock wants in his players. Haven't seen Marleau play too much, but I would guess the same, plus he's a scoring machine.Originally posted by D'z Nutz

Having a D men in their off position really makes a big deal.Originally posted by anarchy

I remember a few years ago Bieksa had to play his off position because of injuries and was a complete wreck.
Also Hamhuis is a stud. Played Suter minutes for Team Canada over the World Cup, plays close to Suter minutes for the Canucks.
Great shut down guy who can make an awesome break out pass.
not a big fan of the picks
marleau, nash, kunitz i would have left off
same as vlasic, hamuis
nash was a big surprise
but Bobby Ryan not on the US team?
I see the reasoning for virtually all the picks, and look forward to seeing what our team can do. If Luongo ends up being the starter, I sure hope he finds a way to step up his game; the team will be relying heavily on the goalie to play excellent.
Crosby Toews Weber for CAA?
It's Kunitz' chemistry with Crosby that got him on the team over someone else and not Kunitz as a standalone impact player.Originally posted by JLau

I have a feeling Price will get the start, and Luongo will step in if he shits the bed.
Surprised that Hall isn't on the list. He's on a crap team but still is getting points.
Disclosure: Not even an Edmonton fan.
Seguin not on there?! Odd.
Don't like Louuuu on the list but I doubt he's going considering the MRI. Crawford will probably replace him.
I'd like to see Smith get some playing time as long as he's not skating around like it's NHL ice. Could land him in trouble on the bigger ice.
See, I feel the exact opposite. Assuming Luongo is good to play, I think he'll be the starter, and PRICE will step in if Luongo shits the bed.Originally posted by colinxx235

The MRI was clear. He should be healthy in 1-2 weeks.Originally posted by mr2mike

Seguin's an immature piece of shit. Sure, he can score, and his chemistry with Benn has been phenomenal, but I don't want him representing Canada anywhere.Originally posted by mr2mike

I feel like this is the worst bunch of goalies Canada's had in as long as I can remember. I don't trust Luongo or Price not to shit the bed. I'd rather see Smith start, but I know that's not going to happen.
Can't wait to see another gold medal hanging around Lu's neck this year
If you take anything I have to say seriously, you're gunna have a bad time.

Trade
Edmonton sends Goalie Devan Dubnyk to Nashville in exchange for Matt Hendricks. Edmonton also keeps half of Dubnyks salary.
No link yet but it was on the Oilers twitter account.
Hendricks isn't a bad aqusition, but giving up their goalie? Sure they have Bryz, but they have nobody after his contract goes.
Oh Edmonton, never stop being so entertaining. Have awful defense and goaltending? Get rid of best defensemen and goaltender. Jesus Christ.
They say there's more trades coming so maybe it was a salary dump to get a better goalie in, who knows. For their sake I hope that's the case

^And now Ben Scrivens to Edmonton in exchange for a 3rd round pick in 2014. Trade looking a bit better now but still not great
EDIT: Beat me to it.
I disagree though, I think it's a great trade. Dubnyk wasn't taking them anywhere. Bryz probably won't. Scrivens could. They've rebuilt their forwards, time for the goalies :P
