Berra is pretty bad
backlund has been insane..another 2 goal performance
love what i've seen from backlund lately, huge progress. berra on the other hand... ouch... he's not looking too sharp
Backlund is just on fire right now. Hopefully its a sign of things to come. 5 in a row.. wow!
Backlund now 3rd on the team for points. Only 1 point behind Gio, and as many goals as Cammy. Absolutely love it.
during the game last night they said he was on pace for a career high 16 goals. I think he may surpass that by a little bit
I think he'll hit 20+
Ramo must be injured. No word so must not be serious, probably just want to give him next 3 games + olympic break to rest.
Ortio has been recalled and Street's been assigned to the Heat

I personally like both our goalies but I think Berra is a bit more solid when the going gets tough, either way, both goalies have room for improvement, which is a good thing considering how well they're playing.
There are a lot of interesting stats for the flames. Lets not forget about Monahan, he's slowed down a bit but 15 goals is pretty sick.
What about Gio's +3 rating, thats telling. On the flip side we have Cammy at -21.
But yes, I have always been a fan of Backlund, glad he's getting ice time and capitalizing on his chances.

FLAMES' RAMO SUFFERS MCL INJURY; OUT UNTIL AFTER OLYMPICS
The Calgary Flames may have to do without goaltender Karri Ramo for a while.
The 27-year-old Finn suffered an MCL injury during Saturday night's game against the Minnesota Wild and will be out until after the Olympic break.
The Flames called up goalkeeper Joni Ortio from the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat.
In 29 games with the Flames this season, Ramo has posted a 11-10-4 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.66 goals-against average.
He has 22-31-0-14 record in 77 career NHL games with the Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning. He was originally selected in the sixth round (191st overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
well that sucks, he's been playing pretty well. at least its only a few games. maybe we'll see Ortio play a bit, he's been solid in the A.
Also Backlund named one of 3 stars of the week!
Hopefully it's just until the Olympic break, depending on how bad the MCl is he could miss the rest of the season

I think Berra has the bigger potential ceiling but also the bigger bust potential. Ramo is definitely the better of the 2 right now. I hope they give Berra another 1 year contract to see what happens, even if he spends most of it in Abby and we have Ramo and Ortio up here next year

FLAMES SIGN D RUSSELL TO TWO-YEAR, $4.52 MILLION EXTENSION
The Calgary Flames locked up defenceman Kris Russell to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2.26 million.
The 26-year-old defenceman has four goals and 20 points in 44 games this season.
This is Russell's first year in Calgary after having spent the first six years of his career split between the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues.
Love it. Great $$ and term. Definitely a guy I like having here.
