Default Cop Just Chillin', Lights On, Blipping His Siren

Earlier this morning there was a Cop car sitting in the new construction area near me with his lights on, flicking his siren on for 1-2 seconds at a time every 30 seconds. Like a lost cub crying for its mother. After about 10 minutes I phoned the non-emergency line just to figure out what was going on. Guy on the phone knew what I was talking about, said "It's necessary" and didn't want to say anymore.

Well now I'm super curious WTF he was doing. Any ideas?

Just an idea, but maybe he was on the radio trying to get HAWCS to get him in sight...

Maybe someone was in distress and didn't know where they were and were told to listen for the sirens, etc...

Probably a high profile point. Make people on the run scatter so they can be detected by other units/helicopter/k9.

I've heard of police doing this when someone is lost and they're trying to find their location. E.g. didn't some drunk guy in Saskatchewan hop a train in -30 C and get stuck on it, then he called 911 and they IDed the train using train horns or something? there was also a murder in Boston where they used police sirens to locate the people (saw it on Netflix)

My guess is Flula hijacked his car and was making a new auto-tunes episode.

No helicopters around that I could hear or see, but it's a possibility.
