    Default Compact Laptops <15 in.

Hey guys, similar to the note taking thread that's going on right now, but I'm looking for a laptop instead haha.

I want something < 15 in. preferably that will strictly be used for taking notes and using Microsoft Office but that's about it. So many to choose from, just want some input from you guys!

    Price range would be ~500.

Some may think 2GB of ram isn't enough, but it's fine for what you're doing. For example, I can have numerous tabs open (including streaming), as well as a few programs open, and that only takes up 1.5 GB.

Does it have dedicated graphics RAM or does that come out of the 2GB? I remember my old netbook had 2GB, and it wasn't nearly enough since the graphics took about 1/4 of it.

That is on an HP desktop that used to run Vista. I installed W8 on it and it's now used as my bench system. Video is onboard.

I can do the same on my new Lenovo laptop with W8 and dedicated graphics.

If for some reason you want more ram, or a slightly larger screen, then this http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...412b643c9een02

    ...or any similar Asus.

Man Microsoft had the Surface Pro 3 i3 student deal for $649 just a few weeks ago. That'd easily be my choice..
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
