    Default CoC LED street lighting

So 5 communities in the CoC (Altadore, Douglasdale, Marlborough, Brentwood, and Tuxedo Park) are either in the process of having their current high pressure sodium fixtures converted to LED fixtures (or have been completed) - Tuxedo Park has been completed and the difference when driving from Mount Pleasant into Tuxedo Park (or vice versa) is quite amazing. I am still quite unsure whether or not I totally like the new LED fixtures, certainly there are more dark areas/gaps on a converted block but that is offset by a much whiter light.

Overall, I can support a city wide conversion just on the basis of the daily energy savings the city would realize and the newer, whiter lighting would like be going back to the days of the mercury vapour fixtures in the 70's and earlier - almost retro in a way.

I'm right by the transition from the old lights to th new ones, and I really like the new LED streetlights. Colours look proper now.

I'm also hoping to slowly swap my whole house over to daylight LED bulbs for similar reasons.

They replaced our street lights in Tuxedo and it looks WAY better! Got rid of that ghetto glow colour. I'll try and take some comparison night shots.

Yup. A mod yard in our town has LED lights all over their yard. In the summer, there are 1000's and 1000's of bugs buzzing around them. Its crazy to see. You have to see it to believe it. Words don't do it justice.

However, won't this keep the bugs off your windows/doors trying to get into your house? Maybe?

Anyways, just seen some newly installed LED street lights installed about a block from where I live in action for the first time. Pretty damn awesome if you ask me.

I found that with the LED strip on my trailer. Our awning was literally crawling with them one night. I also see it with our LED outside lights. They just get swarmed in the winter.

I wonder if its going to affect peoples garage doors.

I found if i put an led bulb in my garage door light I couldnt open it due to signal interference.

I'd be shocked if they did interfere. We're building a plant right now that will be the first in Canada to have 100% LED lighting everywhere and interference wouldn't be tolerated at all.

Well all i know is i installed a led bulb in the system and after that I couldnt open or shut the door without the light off first. I read up that the led bulb is what causes it. Put in a CFL and it works fine. They recommend incandescents on their website though because of interference issues with CFL and LED bulbs. Chamberlain that is.
