I posted this on HoFo as well, but I thought I would ask here too:
I was in Florida in June and Hawaii yesterday.
Florida was iPhone 5, Hawaii was iPhone 6+ (restored with iPhone 5 backup).
I kept getting texts from Fido saying I was using data even though Roaming was off and Cell data was off. I reset my stats and it kept saying 0 bytes used.
I contacted apple and they had me turn off a bunch of other settings but to no avail as I got the same text the next day.
Now, I don't care about a couple of KB of data being charged to my account, but the daily fee is $7.99 for data I will never use.
Anyone else know what might be using cell data even though everything is off? The only way I can stop this is if I leave my phone on Airplane mode. That prevents texts and calls. I have a T-mobile hotspot that I use for data while in the US.
I was asked if I use exchange, and I do not. I however have a hotmail account. When I got back to Canada, I noticed that the phone did use some exchange data.
Any ideas?
