    Default Kitchen cabinet lighting

Under cabinet lighting specifically, there's pot lights and LED to choose from. I'm choosing LED for the brightness it provides.

My options are the ones that have brackets and that are mountable, or the tape/strip that can be stuck. What's your recommendation? Also, my kitchen cabinet layout has a raised cabinet bottom above the sink (see diagram I tried to sketch below.)

If I get the led tape/strips, can they be attached (by an electrician,) to a new wall light switch? I am also wondering if I should only keep them under the cabinets where I don't have the sink underneath. Your thoughts/experience with the taped led lights?

Get the strips, it distributes light evenly less hotspots vs the LED puck lights and in the event of an LED failure on the strip you probably won't even notice. You can wire them up to a light switch on the wall, or you can just leave a small switch hidden behind one of the cabinet doors if you don't plan on turning them on/off too often.

Not really under cabinet but figured I'd post it. I bought wirelessly controlled LED strips with the 3M sticky back and rigged it up behind my fridge and stuck it under my granite. They have many options but I keep them on the fade option which means that it will be a solid colour for a few secs and then fade into a different solid colour. Remote controls the strip. Works really well... no reaching for switches or anything. Looks cool.

The colours are displayed really well. Here is blue... yes they also have white.

Taped lights will be happening in our place. The LEDS will be on a timer to be on at night and early in the mornings, regardless of what the kitchen lights (already LED) are doing.

Our place came with some Halogen puck lights under the cabinets. I'm redoing it with LED strips, picked up everything from Lee Valley.

Mine are the LED strips and came with the condo. Never had them before this but I absolutely love them and will always have them in future places.

How are the lights above your sink conected to the rest of it? Do they run inside the cabinet? Do you have a closeup of your LED strips? Are they the tape or the track?

When I'm home in about a week I'll get an accurate answer for you.
