Nymex a different kettle of fish. AECO much more relevant to us.

Still. Oversupply and lack of demand is the theme. LNG not really making a dent rn.

I just went floating for now, so I'm locked in for 30 days at least.

    RATE OF LAST RESORT.

    hehe

On April 18th 2024, the provincial government announced changes to the Regulated Rate Option for electricity consumers. The provincial government has said it is aiming for these proposed changes to come into effect by January 2025. The proposed changes include:

Renaming the default electricity rate from the Regulated Rate Option (RRO) to the Rate of Last Resort (ROLR)
Setting default electricity rates every two years
Requiring default providers to confirm with their customers within 90 days of providing services whether they’re choosing to sign a competitive rate contract or staying on the default electricity rate
    Cocoa $10,000 per tonne.

Is it weird that the screen to change my rate doesn't appear at all, just the plans are missing, had last changed for a plan expiry around the end of April but definitely not in May. Have tried every browser.

Enmax? You don't have this box on the right when you log in on the main summmary screen?

I've got that box but then when I click no matter the device/browser it leads to nothing. I'll have to call them.

I had a 9.29 cent fixed I'm riding on, but tempted to go floating now that it's 7.1 cents floating.

    9.29 is pretty good
    Isn’t it floating +1c? So 7.1+1?
Ngl I never paid much attention to this stuff in my life, idk how I ever made it this far lol

Ballers don't need to pay attention to this.

Nah electricity floating does not have the +1. And looks like June is only 7.6 cents.

I'm also on 9.29 but can't be bothered to change it unless the fixed rate falls below that. I genuinely don't foresee electricity prices consistently being down that floating would be better than the 9.29.

The pool price is down to 3.5 cents/kWh and generally retail floating rates will settle around 1 cent above that though it uses a long rolling window of about ~6 months so it will take time to fall that far.

That would be truly excellent, since my 6c plan expires in December.

You think enmax sets its fixed pricing on a backward looking basis?

I would guess it’s much more likely to be forward looking based on AESO futures so they can unload some of the risk.
