    Default Help with picking amp..

    I just bought 2 Alpine Type-S 12" Subs in a sealed box.
These are the subs he told me are in the box.

Can u guys reccomend the size of amp i should be running for 2 of these subs?
Maxx watts, RMS, 4ohms or 2 ohms? etc....

    Thanks

Ok well i figured out i need around 6-800 RMS for the both of them..
So, probably looking around for like a 1000 watt amp.
What would happen if i was to put like a 600 maxx watt amp to run them both?
Would i get bad sound quality? How would this effect the subs?

6-800 rms might be a lil too much for that sub.
depending on how you wire it 300-400 amp should do it. the rms for a type s dvc is 200 watts and 400 max i believe.

    Ok...
If they are each 400 max then thats around 800..

How would a 300-400 amp be big enough?

lol 600-800RMS...Type R's are only 300watts RMS max...how would your Type S's be more?

Would you consider ordering online? Or does it have to be here in Calgary?

I think a 500 watt amp is sufficient for both.

alpine is always a good choice but they cost money
im baised and geared towards jbl. they are cheaply priced but got tons of power. i think a jbl 300.1 or a 600.1 would be good for your setup

I think alpine makes a pretty good amp, and makes alright power. But I am in love with Audison amps. I think they are some of the best amps on the market, and I am sure that the SRx Mono block amp would be perfect for those subs.

    www.audison.com

You can also go check them out at Audio Concepts Mobile on 32nd Ave N.E.

if you really want some bang for your buck i'd recommend the
ALPINE V-12 amp costs a fair ammount but lots of power with some in reserve

if you do buy it off ebay look at it for a price of 180-200 USD dont buy if its more than that

Hey man im looking at the JBL Power PX600.2. They want $319.95 USD on sounddomain.com
Where do you see 219.95? The 600.1 is only 1 channel and i need a 2 channel for both my subs. You weren't thinking one 600.1 for each of my subs were you?

It says "2 or 4 Channel Inputs Allow for Non-Fading Bass "

A single 600.1 can run both subs if you wire it right. If you want 2 channel, I saw a 600.2 at IKESOUND.com for 230US. Ebay is fine if you know how to pick the sellers.

And I will second JBL (I don't have one but I will definately recommend it - great price, great output and best bang for your buck).

EDIT - We must have posted at the same time
