They're an Italian company, http://www.suomy.com and they're very popular with a lot of racers... good helmets

I was going to get another Shoei but this was a good deal so I couldn't pass it up.

that only matters for secret street because the staff is ignorant of other standards... any other event they are fine. they're BSI which is better than Snell apparently... but racecity is ignorant of european standards.

I had a Shoei RF-900 and it was great. Definitly saved my noggin that's for sure. Good helmet.

That 1-R is sweet! They didn't have that last year... I have a suomy gunwind troy bayliss replica. Man, is it ever the sweetest helmet that I've ever had. Then again, I had this pos el cheapo to compare it with. But I've tried on a few at Blackfoot, Pro-am, Walt, etc and it fits me the best... plus the $300 less than an overpriced shoei or arai bought me in!
