Awesome, I bet the MTS was just a little loud when Buff put in the breakaway shot! That 5on3 was awful, even for the Coyotes.

As much as I liked the Ehlers-Scheifele-Perrault line, having a playmaker like Wheeler with the young shooters is a great setup.

Default "A Guy Like Me"- John Scott, The Players Tribune

This is one of the best articles I have ever read on The Players Tribune, Here is John Scott's perspective on being voted into the All Star Game.

    http://www.theplayerstribune.com/a-guy-like-me/

    Some highlights

So when someone from the NHL calls me and says, “Do you think this is something your kids would be proud of?”

… That’s when they lost me.

That was it, right there. That was the moment.

Because, while I may not deserve to be an NHL All-Star, I know I deserve to be the judge of what my kids will — and won’t — be proud of me for.
“Yeah. Montreal. Well, actually … they already sent me down to the minors. So, Newfoundland.”

Newfoundland. Can you even get a flight from Phoenix to Newfoundland?

I pack up my stuff: my sticks, my skates, my gear. I walk back down to the gym, and grab my gloves — still sitting there, brand new, where the guys and I had been. John Scott, All-Star. I throw them in my bag, then place it in the trunk of my car, and begin the long drive home.

It's not as loud as it used to be, or maybe I'm losing my hearing, hard to tell.

Damn NHL, bunch of greasy bastards. I know it's a business, but the all star game is a joke, everyone knows it, hence the massive overhaul of it. Then they let the fans vote for captains and when the fans have a little fun with it, they piss all over and try to blow up a guys career. No, he's not a star and was probably only a year removed from the NHL anyway, but they certainly made sure he was buried in the AHL so they wouldn't have to deal with this.

Those Player's Tribune articles are always good. I've yet to read a bad one yet.

That was far and away the most entertaining and fun All-Star Game ever.

Good thing Scott got the MVP, he's gonna need that van when his wife pops.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't have even watched it had not been for John Scott.

Am I the only one that watches and enjoys these for what they are every year?

Definitely more entertaining this year. Love the new format, and love that the players actually tried decent hard. Some of those saves were sick! 1-0 ASG, what are the odds? Haha

Tonight's game got me a thinking, it was almost 30 years ago that I sat in the Saddledome and watched the NHL All Star game on February 12, 1985 - still have the ticket stub tucked away.
    Will fuck off, again.

Nothing worse than the NBA dunk fest or Pro Bowl yawners. You did good NHL. The guys had to skate 3v3 haha thoroughly entertaining but change the voting next year.

I like the All Star game for what it is, good time to show off and have fun. John Scott totally made the day, I would bet no one has ever had more fun at an All Star game than he had, it was awesome to see! Totally rad he was MVP, that's a weekend a career everyman/grinder will never forget.

I remember when I was a kid having season tickets to the Jets and filling out one of these at every game.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game, but am I the only one who thought that was one of the worst hockey broadcasts ever on CBC? From commentators rambling on about "the good old days" right over top of a goal, to actually missing two other goals, because their cameras were focused on the hockey mom giving back rubs on the bench haha

Really happy for John Scott though. Not only because he won the money and the respect, but it was a nice "fuck you" to everyone who jerked him around.

He will forever be known as, NHL All-Star MVP John Scott.
Kinda like Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio.

This whole season is brutal, their new format or whatever is absolute shit. I cannot stand to listen to those braying idiots. There was a time when CBC was THE standard for hockey broadcasts and I miss THOSE good old days! It'll never be the same.

Wouldn't have watched the game but John Scott was playing. I thought the player's did a great job at selling the game. Get Scott 2 goals, let him give a great celly, the pretend fight with Kane. Then hoisting him after he wins MVP.

Also forgot about this Jagr moment which they replayed.

Now that the all star farce has passed it's time to focus on what matters.
