Lightbulb August 8, 2015: McLean Creek Event (Off-Road)

So statick posted in the Wheeling Thread about a newbie-friendly weekend to learn the basics of off-roading. McLean Creek seems to be a viable contender and I'll have to do my research if I become lead car but if someone who's more familiar with the trails can take over, that would be appreciated.

Just seeing if there's enough interest to do it.

Sounds like you need to find coverage. If people prefer the next Saturday, I'm game.

Just threw the date there because it was mentioned.

Thanks for starting this thread, Don.

    I'm in for August 8, 9 or 15.

I've gone out just a few times, but depending on who else is in, I can potentially be the tail-gunner.

    Like ATV's? Sure, why not.

Not sure how mixing up machines will work though.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Anyone have a source for maps and trails?

I'm doing my due diligence and researching right now. Found this site:

What kind of recovery gear should I pick up if I make it out?
So long as your points are attached in the chassis and not at a bumper or something.

By 'basic recovery gear', I just have a clevis and a recovery strap:

    All available through Princess Auto.
