    Default ibook vs. windows laptops

i'm looking around for a new laptop... something low end (ie: approx $2000)

I saw the ibook... and it looks SWEET! I love the fact that its so compact...with the 12.1 inch screen. (I'm not really a believer in having huge screens on laptops...coz laptops are meant for portability). it has a much cleaner look than all the other laptops out there.

    couple of questions -

    1) Ayone have any experiece with the ibook? Good product?..or would I be better off with a toshiba, dell, hp, etc...

    2) Are there any windows based laptops in the same price range that is the same size as the ibook??

    thnx

Go with the Windows machine because of software and mac's are overpriced for the hardware you get. You should ask Faisal about laptops, he knows a lot about them. He would probably recommend an ECS machine but thsoe are more desktop replacements and are pretty big. Most of the major manufaturers have their own sub-notebooks that are about the same size (1", 4-5lbs). I personally like the Sony 505 series but I'm pretty sure Dell and Fujitsu make some pretty nice ones as well...

depends how u gonna use it.. the ibook is alot lighter and more reliable.. alot more pofessional., but of cuz they are a bit overprice if u conpare their specs side by side w/ Win based laptop..

win based laptop tends to be a bit more heavy unless u go w/ the high end ones like Sony, and they are not very reliable, but u r expose to a much wilder range of software, if u own a PC at home then the software u purchase can go both way.. all depends on wat u use it for

    btw i recommand the ibook

ibooks are cool. especially if it comes with the mac os x. it acts like windows sorta but it even better! icons look better, just the over all look of it is better.

depends what you're using it for. multimedia = ibook, coding/programming/chat/surf - laptop
