Correct - I rode it. However, it is only accessible from the East on the North side of the river. As in, You still can't go West from there on the North side. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's fucking annoying. Any idea when it's going to be completely accessible? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That's actually better than I thought. I totally expected another year before that lower deck to be opened. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I didnt want to get my road bike dirty again and I'm going to put studded winter tires on my hybrid, so I didn't know what to use during shoulder weather.
Since my wife is on mat leave and her bike is just literally hanging in the garage, figured I could use it instead.
Put a long stem (thanks Matt), 700x35c cyclocross tires and I'm good. Just installed a small rear splash guard too when it gets wet.
Figured if I break the bike, then one more reason to upgrade its groupset
Hopefully I dont get any flats (10km ride anyway) as otherwise taking off the tires will be a PITA since I have mini v-brakes on, thinking of swapping to cantilever but i forgot to pickup some yoke from MEC, does anyone have any for sale?

Question.. it's beautiful out. My roadie is on the trainer..with trainer tire... Would that be a terrrrrible idea to take on the roads?
There's a bike in our building that is running the red vittoria trainer tire, I personally wouldn't.
Doesn't take that long to swap tires anyways.
Trainer tires have NO cut resistance/puncture protection. You will shred that tire so fast. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also - holy lever angle on that Jake the Snake.
i usually ride a medium/53cm bike... the green JTS is only a 49mm, that's why. hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I still have the blue JTS in the basement but it's a dedicated fixie trainer bike nowThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm just glad that I don't have to get the road bike dirty now on crappy weather.
haha, I saw that bike and commented on the trainer tire also. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have a cheap rear wheel with a trainer tire on it. Simple rear wheel swap for the trainer.
But - I recommend you use it as an excuse to your wife to buy a new bike.
My daily ridden bikes are:
HT Mountain bike
FS Mountain Bike
SS Mountain Bike
Fixie
CX Bike
CX commuter bike
Road bike - climber
Road bike - aero
Tri Bike
Fat Bike
....and a bunch of old bikes I didn't list.

really what i need is a direct-drive trainer.. come on now guys, how did that suggestion not come up!?
because that's money you could spend on another bike. N+1 takes priority over a pricey direct drive trainer. lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
selling a set of new schwalbe marathon winters, 700x35c https://forums.beyond.ca/threads/408...65#post4756565
heloc that shit
I came across 2 Moose on the Greenway up by Royal Oak yesterday evening. Heads up for anyone that commutes from the NW. Give them distance....
Nice frost bike this morning. Pretty solid way to wake up!
Do you guys who ride to work downtown, get to lock your bikes inside? I am getting a new job and it seems like the only bike parking might be those silver racks the city put in. It is right outside the building, but figure it would still be an easy target ?
Do the underground and pay lots have bicycle parking ?
Some do, some don't - but I wouldn't say that underground in a public lot means its by any means safer from theft. My building has something like a 3+ year waitlist for bike parking, too. To that end, I've left my "town" bike out for several hours during the day on a City rack and its always been there when I got back but I feel fortunate every time that happens. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
