My dad has one that's over 30 years old, one of those ones with no battery. It's worked perfectly all those years.
I have a handful of Seiko 5's. None of them I've paid much for, most expensive maybe $250, least as low as $35
All of them keep and have always kept fantastic time, I've never had any of them serviced and they've all taken a beating.
