Audi S8 Plus, RS7 Performance and New R8 in LA

Audi opened up their LA Auto Show press conference by tackling the TDIGate scandal by reaffirming their commitment to investigate and resolve any TDI issues found as part of multiple investigations going on right now regarding the cheat software found in TDI vehicles. There was no mention of the misstated CO2 emissions numbers on their gasoline powered vehicles.

So does anyone else think audi's new thing of adding + to the end of a vehicle name is cheesy and cheap?

Maybe they wouldn't need the S8 Plus if the S8 was a better car in the first place. My opinion of course.

RS7 looks great as always. Please don't call it a plus!

No different than M in front of the model number like M235. If the 235 was a better car in the first place, they wouldn't need the M235.

I think plus is a recent thing added to models that are long in the tooth when they are selling in their 6th or 7th model year.

Kinda like S4 Plus they are clearing out right now in preparation of B9 A4/S4. I was looking into jumping into a S4 Plus couple weeks back but they don't have any configuration I like. Can't argue with the cheap lease tho (for an Audi).

That's a US Spec E36 M3 which too wasn't a real M. US got the 240hp engine, which really is the equivalent to an M-Sport engine in today's nomenclature. You'd need to go Euro spec or Canadian spec to please us.
