    Default Oculus Rift preorders.

I know people are looking forward to this one. Could be awesome, could make you puke.

These inexpensive devices have the chance of changing the TV industry. Why buy a 200 inch TV when you can project one right into your head. Sell of some facebook shares and buy the end result.
    Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.

I've been playing with my Samsung VR / S6Edge+ for a few weeks now and it's soooooo fun. I can only imagine how much better this will be. Highly recommended!

I might build my first desktop in a decade to try this thing out.

Tried it last year and it was way better than I was expecting, I'll definitely be ordering one.

I'd love to order one, but I'm curious what the price is. I figured the consumer version would be cheaper than the dev model, but a lot of sites seem to indicate otherwise.

    Reasonable if it delivers.

Well that's what I was expecting too. From part perspective, is shouldn't cost any more than a 10" tablet. It's how much R&D they want to priced in there.

Playstation VR is expected to be about the same as the launch price of PS4.

Seems like all 3 doesn't want to release their price first just to be undercut by competitor a few days later.

If it were holiday season and it were all about getting as many units out the door as possible then I'd probably agree, but I think, at the moment, Oculus has the name to justify charging whatever they want. I don't see anybody who's interested in OR right now saying "Why would I buy this when I could spend $50 less on one of the competitors?".

Maybe that's just Oculus marketing working really well on me, I dunno. Until proven otherwise, I trust Oculus to get this right better than anybody else.

Ok, just read up the spec on final unit. My guess is closer to $1000 than $500. And the only competitor is HTC who isn't ready to ship yet. Both are on PC Gaming platform where $1000 monitor is more acceptable.

Playstation VR would not fight in the same segment.

Apparently if you were an original backer they are sending you one for free. Just filled in my survey to get my unit. Pretty sweet deal. Best $330 I ever spent on kickstarter, that's for sure.

I've been hearing it's closer to $400USD. That would be a pretty good deal as it's got a bunch of upgrades over the DK2.

Combining The Oculus with iracing is definitely an experience that all gear heads should try. It's really, really cool. Totally a game changer when it comes to sims, both flight and racing. My dream is that Disney makes a new version of the old X-wing series that's VR compatible. How cool would that be to do a trench run in VR.

Opens at 9am here, but I am guessing it is all in USD so I will probably hold off for a while until I see some reviews.

I can't even get onto the site. Not as bad as I thought, still more than I want to pay.

Lets not also forget you need a good system to even use this thing so factor that in as well.

lol, I was right (after CAD conversion).

Now we have to see if Sony can stick with their pricing target of $400ish.
