Default New SW BRT Line: Woodbine to Downtown

I don't think I've seen this anywhere in the news or on here. Construction is planned to kick off this summer. If you take 14th st SW between Southland and Glenmore this may affect you with construction over next number of years.

Cost projected around $40 million. 14th street looks like it will have 8 lanes after it's done.

And yeah I don't know how much sense this makes or where the riders will come from. It's much quicker to get to one of the LRT stations (Anderson, Southland, Heritage). You're basically DT in 15-20 min. It may serve some portion of MRU students well and people trying to get to Rocky View hospital.

Yeah they approved it before the Ring Road land agreement was reached.

It's been in the news, there's that group of people who have banded together and are making some noise, Eagleridge residents and the leader is the owner of a taxi company if I recall correctly.
    Will fuck off, again.

Just what we need. More bus only lanes for bendy buses with 4 passengers on them 90% of the time.

Also how long is that route? Like an hour and a half each way?

This is just BRT, not LRT.

As someone who grew up in that area, it's about time. 14th has been an incredible bottleneck forever. If there is a single drop of precipitation your commute time quadruples.

In fact I moved out of the area due to accessibility issues. Hopefully this will alleviate congestion for those still in the area.

There were some stories about this last week. There is a group lobbying against it, set up by the head checker cab. Just go ahead and read the issues they have outlined

Me too, Woodbine is a tough area to commute in and out of on a daily basis.
