Yah you gotta wait for the investigation to finish.
Yah you gotta wait for the investigation to finish.
Happened to me, took about a week to get the money back. If you're lucky you'll get it before month end.
Had a machine short me a few hundred dollars down in mexico once, that took about two months to get back.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

Would the media care about this situation?
"TD is investigating but that's not good enough?"
I know it's hard man, but the best thing to do is to let TD do their investigation and follow up on the timelines they gave you.
Yes but this one time at RBC, I deposited $1000 and forget an extra zero so I deposited $100! Oh the horrors! But it got settled after 2-3 days.Originally posted by Tarrantula
Atm's count cash? Thats dumb. Scotiabank - Money in envelope, tell the atm how much it is. Boom. In your account.
No problems EVER.

I did that as a kid. Was depositing a cheque and some $20 bills, but I had it in 2 envelopes, not realizing even if you submit multiple lines, it all goes in one envelope. When it didn't take the second one, but I had "deposited" all the money, I put in another deposit for $1, shoved a loonie in the envelope, and put it in. The machine took it, and my account balance was never changed, so I'm assuming it was all good.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
lol!
I did something similar, I deposited an envelope with only 1 or the 2 cheques I intended to put in it. So then I just deposited a second one with the missing cheque and a value of 0.01 cents. When I called it in, the rep laughed and just wiped the 1 penny out and said it was all good.
If I had done what you did, I would have deposited an envelope for 900$ immediately after with nothing but a note explaining what was going on in it.

Hahahaha I'm being dramatic. But it is fucking annoying. Now, if I took $1400 from the bank mistakenly, I'm sure it wouldn't take them 15-business days to garnish funds from my account.Originally posted by A790

You can't. With TD's new ATM's they count your money and scan your checksOriginally posted by Sugarphreak

Other banks are starting/going to start going this way also. It's to cut down on people depositing "money" that are empty envelopes and taking out cash.
Without envelopes and the ATM counting the cash or verifying cheques, it eliminates people scamming the banks.
Unfortunately as others have said you just have to wait (I would speak to the manager but be very nice...if you start demanding anything they won't do anything out of their way to help you). Hopefully it gets fixed soon!

No phone call or notification, but TD reimbursed $1000 today. Hopefully there's more to come, as I definitely didn't put in exactly $1k.

just happened to me, fuckin TD ATM's
Never saw this thread until it was just bumped, but about a month ago the gf put in $400.00 at our local TD ATM. The money went in, then the ATM took a crap, and said the machine was out of service. It took 2 weeks to get her account credited.
The issue may have something to do with plastic bills, damaged bills, creased bills, etc. Then again, going by the posts it seems to happen much more often at TD.

This is some years ago, but I've had issues with an ATM and larger cash amounts.
I once withdrew 1000$ (or close to) from my account and the ATM literally jammed from the cash. I was literally ripping out the 20$s from the feeder as it was getting close to the time-out period. I had to give bits and pieces of 20s to the recipient.
i did this once at cibc, punched 15 instead of 1500 (assumed the decimals were pre-filled) i didn't even bother contacting them, they corrected it the next day

Took about a week or two but the rest was in my acct afterwards
