A bit technical, we'll probably see simpler tools in the coming weeks.

Does anyone have a line on extra controllers for these things?
ANyone know if these can be found anywhere??
I haven't seen anymore anywhere. No extra eom controllers either.
Kijiji ads are dwindling too, nothing new in terms of people getting their hands on one recently and trying to sell them for a ridiculous price. Ads are all from roughly December. Not sure what the deal is from Nintendo on why it's so hard to produce these and stock them.

I thought I was the only one that couldn't seem to find one!
I've sort of lost interest in it because of the unavailability...

I could be mistaken, but I would swear I saw some at Deerfoot Meadows Bestbuy about 3 nights ago.Originally posted by Inzane

Fuck this video game system!
I built my retropie because I couldn't find one. Still want one.
From what I understand, Nintendo seriously mis-read the potential customers for this. They assumed that only people with nostalgia would want one... People who had a normal NES growing up.
Apparently, everyone wants them, including the younger generations, so they weren't prepared for this kind of demand.

I bought my console just yesterday. A local EB Games got 5 in this week. My brother got the first one, and called me up and I was at the store 45 minutes later and got one for myself.
My brother already successfully hacked his last night. Lol
But now we're both looking for extra controllers.
Btw, of the list of 30 games included with the console I was a bit perplexed why it included arcade classics like Galaga and Pac-Man. Sure they are "classics" but I don't associate them with the NES console and its heyday.
Retropie here too. Ability to reuse all my xb360 controllers is a bonus. Oh, and SF2 Mame!Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf

Nintendo didn't mistread this. They've always managed demand this way. Wii went through this through it's whole life cycle. The Wii U is pretty much a failure in terms of sales numbers, and still suffers from this. Demand drives hype, drives sales. In theory anyways, didn't work for the Wii U haha.
Netflix has enough problems dealing with a small # of studios for content which is why they had to resort to them creating their own content. Much worse with video game licensing and payouts.Originally posted by Tik-Tok

I thought it was just the nintendo way to create fake hype and demand with low launch supply.

Then you don't know how Nintendo really got started in America. You might not associate those with NES specifically, but Nintendo was all about arcades before the NES was even a thing in America.Originally posted by Inzane

When I was younger, there was a FASCINATING book at the library that detailed how Nintendo became a company from the very beginning, all the way to it becoming the video game behemoth it is today (well, it stopped at like 1995 because I was like 12 when I read it and it was an old-ish book then). It was like 500 pages. #nerd
