    Default Separate vaping rooms

So this Newsweek article talks about separate vaping rooms in the workplace so vapers don't have to go outside with smokers - interesting idea to say the least.

Now I've never smoked or vaped but remember the days of an ashtray at every smoker's desk in the workplace which included the occasional waste paper basket fire in the office. That eventually evolved into indoor smoking rooms in the workplace and then to what has evolved into today's current situation whereas smoking is permitted outdoors and is supposed to be done a certain distance away from any entrances.

So I am curious, does your workplace allow vaping indoors at your desk or work space? Or is the separated indoor vaping room? Are things evolving in the vaping/workplace world?

We certainly don't, and we've extended the school's no smoking policy on campus to include vaping.

Vaping is the most ridiculous thing ever. It needs to die.

I can't wait to debate your reasoning behind that position.

It's irritating, people don't know the health risks behind, or claim there isn't any.

Why do people feel the need to stick shit in their lungs? I don't get it.

We had one guy at our work try it at his desk, but there were complaints.

I vape, but wouldn't do so freely at my desk out of courtesy. It is the same reason people shouldn't wear heavy perfumes or what not in the workplace.

Nobody should have to smell you.

Why do people feel the need to stick shit in their stomach?

Vaping is much less of a health risk than smoking, and it's gotten millions off smokes.

With that said, I'm not talking about the "hipster" vape people.

That accounts for 90% of "vapers" though, hence people apprehension.

How's that? Good enough? UK Health recommended.

I'd dispute that, you can usually spot the hipsters... Biggest vape clouds to be found, the majority of us who are quiting usually go a little more stealth mode

I think vaping as a means to quit smoking is a great thing, but vaping as an alternative to smoking with no attempt to quit is silly. Even more silly is taking up vaping when the person never smoked to begin with...

That said, it's your body and you can do whatever you want with it. I know myself personally as a non smoker or vaper, I would rather be around vapers than smokers in any environment. I do not find the smell offensive like I do the stench of cigarettes. YMMV

    This completely.

My issue isn't the health risks (or lack thereof), it's the lack of common courtesy that usually comes with it. Some guys here at work vape in the hardware rooms away from the bosses and clients. I don't need to walk into that cloud every time I'm getting equipment.

Next time I'll let a nice massive fart out to cancel out the vape cloud.....

I used caping to quit smoking, and it worked great, and I still vape, but I keep it pretty discreet, like I don't leave the house with mine usually. I keep it around and use it occasionally, mostly when i get a cigarette craving, which i still get 4 years after I quit smoking.

You've changed your view based on ONE person that probably didn't use their vaporizer correctly?
