Found this on the City of Calgary website the other day and spent way too much time reading the history on some of the historical buildings here hahah.

Click on the building balloon on the map and hit 'More Info' for a SHIT TON of info on each building.

This doesn't even touch or being to show the amount of data the City has when it comes to historical stuff. I've seen GIS maps of airplane flights from the early 50s and before and its amazing to see how Calgary has grown.
