Default Concrete walls in garage frosting

    Home Energy Pros
How many of you guys have frost buildup on your foundation walls of your attached garages?
It seems to be from the garage door halfway to the house, half of the guys at work seem to think its normal because I have a north facing garage, other guys seem to think its normal. I can't see it being healthy for the concrete to have a layer of frost on it every year......

What do the house guys think here?

With the cold weather the concrete is very cold. Heated garage air will condense on the concrete and freeze. Increase temperature and air circulation via a fan or decrease humidity. It is about all you can do. Mitigate what you can but I would also not be overly worried about it if it is just the concrete.

I get it every year too for a bit, hasn't concerned me at all. Sidewalks get way worse than just frosty and they do just fine

Could insulate the concrete but typically more hassle than it's worth unless garage is heated and you don't want to lose that heat as quickly.

My garage is set to 15 C.

I only get frost on the walls next to the doors. I don't worry about it.

To lower humidity, I vent the whole garage a couple of times a week. Huge fog streams out of my garage. haha, I should really get a dehumidifyer.
