This is probably as good a save as you'll ever see, and I'm surprised the reaction to it was so tame. The back end was ahead of the front and he drove back underneath it.

He was on the gas all the time to keep it off the wall.
At least the cars these days look a bit more similar to their stock brethren. A few decades ago, not so much...
Yeah, the left and right sides are the same car.
The bodies are still twisted but just not as much, last year's car...

I wish there was a way they could still look like this.

I'd just like to have a street Lumina, to be honest. I had a red one just like this one from 02 to 04. I always thought they were really good looking cars.

We had one growing up. Alternator is the worst job in the world. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

I think I had to have the alternator done in mine. You come in from underneath on it, right? Seems to me I had to have something replaced and the way to get to it was to pull all the front suspension and everything out. All the fun of a Ferrari timing belt with all the quality of GM. Best of both worlds. I still want one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Bubba's paint scheme for this upcoming weekend at Martinsville - I do not recall Petty ever running a black #43 car in the 60+ years the 43 has been raced.

A fun thing today is to go on social media and look at the people losing their fucking minds that NASCAR is banning the confederate flag at race tracks.

Kudos to NASCAR, that is a bold move by that organization. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
On a side note, Ferrari has been having discussions about being an engine supplier to the IndyCar series.
Side note, check out Uppity on Netflix. It is a very appropriate for the moment documentary about Willy T Ribbs and the struggles he had in his career.

That's fucked. Solid statement response by NASCAR.
This all happened in the garages at Talladega, one would hope there's a few cameras about.
Honestly though, I am not surprised at such a thing happening considering where the roots of NASCAR are - doesn't make it right in any way though. If anything, this'll just charge up Bubba a bit more and rally other drivers/crews around him which in turn will piss the haters off that much more. Actually, it's been good to see Bubba having a bit more success as of late in a single car team that is nor top tier by any means - rumours floating around of him sliding into Johnson's ride but I don't see that happening.
At Talladega today...
Yeah, that's 3rd place Almirola crossing the finish line sideways, not quite as good as a Bowyer crossing the finish line at Daytona on his roof and on fire...
Bubba finished 14th, no news yet as to whomever placed the noose.
So it wasn't a noose but a door pull on the garage he happened to get.

Still impressed by the actions by nascar and the other drivers to support bubba.
