Default BMW X5 wheels on X3

Spent some time searching the web and couldnt find a definite answer. Will call someone tomorrow (suggestions on who to call? dont want to call BMW)

Wondering if 2013 BMW X5 wheels and tires (winters) will fit on a 2012 X3?

I know the tire size is slightly different:

Current tires are 245/50/18 and the tires on the X5 wheels are 255/55/18.

    What do you think?

I would carefully check the brake clearance first
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

The centre bore on an E70 is larger than an F25. They should work, but you'd need a hub centric ring.

Thanks, I will look into that. Going to grab the rims for a test fit anyway I guess. Probably the easiest way.

Can hubcentric rings be bought locally?

I wouldn't buy them. That tire size is way too tall and offset range is greater than an X3 so unless you know exactly what they are the rims may not work either... Two totally different fitments.

They will be free if they fit and if not I will sell them and give the proceeds back.

Wondering because they are winter wheels if they are more generic than a stock setup?

it is possible the rims could fit as long as the hub bore is not too small but the tires are definitely way too big man...

Sorry, I totally missed the part where you were keeping the tires.
Was only thinking about the wheels for my last comment.

    Gotcha! (appreciate the input )

I am blinded by the truck market where it seems going up a size makes little difference.

I didnt think the tire size was actually that different- what would the change from 245 to 255 actually account to in inches/cm?

Looking at these sizes specifically, the numbers 245 or 255 represent the section width (widest point in the tire... Not simply tread width) of the tire in mm's. The second number of 50 or 55 represents the height of one sidewall by indicating the height is 50% or 55% of the width of the tire, so on the 245/50R18 it is saying the sidewall height is 50% of 245mm (9.64") equaling 122.5mm (4.82"). Multiply that number by 2 and add the diameter of the rim (18") and you have the overall height (diameter) of the tire, so 27.64". In the case of the 255/55R18, the width being 255mm (10.04") x 55% shows the sidewall height is 140.25mm (5.52") x 2 plus 18" wheel = 29.04" overall diameter.

On an X3, that much height (diameter) difference combined with the extra width will cause some clearance issues.
